Football Practice Field Renovation Facts

v    The football field renovation project is being totally funded by the Boardman Gridiron Club and will be used by the Varsity and Freshman football teams at Boardman High School.

v    The funds were secured by the success of the Gridiron Club annual Reverse Raffle, a generous donation from Tony Lariccia, and other Gridiron Club fundraisers.

v    The project includes construction of a full sized practice football field, and a 24’ x 32’ pavilion, all enclosed within a 6’ high fenced in area.  The pavilion will also be used to house the outdoor football equipment during the off-season.

v    As part of the excavating project a drainage system was put in place around the North, South, and West sides to carry away any standing water and to protect our neighbors to the south from field runoff.

v    The estimated cost for the project was $52,300; the final cost is estimated at $53,010, a difference of $710.  Original plans included a shed; this was deleted due to the additional cost of the fence as a result of the actual total length required.

v    The estimated completion date for phase one of the project is October 15, 2004.

v    The second phase of this project will be to run water to the pavilion for use by the team during practice.  Appropriate permits and cost estimates must be secured before beginning this phase of the project.  Phase II will be completed before summer practice begins for the 2005 football season.
