A Message from the Superintendent

In Boardman Schools, our Athletic Programs are an integral part of the total educational experience and they contribute substantially to the learning opportunities of all students.

With its tradition of excellence, the Boardman Local School System is entering its eigthy-fifth year of outstanding service to the children of this community. Over the years, Boardman School System has been recognized for its high standards. Ours is a school system whose teachers and administrators expect the best from its students; a school system whose students are recognized for their outstanding achievements in academics, in arts and in athletics.

Our Achievements are reflective of the support provided by the Boardman community. Help us preserve this tradition of excellence.  To the Student Athletes, Cheerleaders, Band Members, Coaches and Directors of both schools, my best wishes for a successful season!

GO SPARTANS!

SPORTSMANSHIP.  LET'S ALL PITCH IN!
GOOD FANS ARE: POSITIVE, RESPECTFUL & RESPONSIBLE

The Boardman Local Schools believe that the school athletics is an integral part of the educational process and mistakes will be made. Praise the athletes regardless of the mistakes.

The Boardman Local Schools encourage positive cheers that build school spirit through good sportsmanship.

Spectators are not permitted on the playing field during the contest. Anyone entering the field of play during the contest will be removed immediately.

Recognize and show appreciation for an outstanding play by either team.

Respect the integrity and judgment of the officials. They have been selected by the high school football coaches throughout the state as being the best in their business.

Vulgarity, obscene gestures, taunting, inappropriate signs or obnoxious, disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated. A ticket is a privilege to observe a contest. Those individuals who do not act responsibly may be removed from the contest.

Treat coaches, athletes and fans from both schools with respect and courtesy.

Thanks for being a GREAT FAN!!!

092204practicefield.jpg (44291 bytes)The Boardman Gridiron Club has undertaken a major project in the renovation of the Boardman High School Practice Football Field. The field will be located behind Boardman High School in the same area as the current practice field.

092204practicefield01.jpg (49349 bytes)The new facility will have a full-sized football field with an 18" crown and a 36' x 24' open pavilion with several hydration stations.
092204practicefield03.jpg (33532 bytes)Completion of work on the field and pavilion is scheduled for September 15, 2004. Grass will be planted, fencing will be put up, and the practice field will be ready for use in the spring for the 2005 season.

092204practicefield04.jpg (29819 bytes)Funds for this project have come from the success of the annual Reverse Raffle, Gridiron Club Memberships, and advertising banners at the Football Stadium. Most importantly, the generous support of Tony Lariccia helped make this dream a reality. Report and Images by: Joe Calagni
